We had a great flight - Caroline and I worked on crossword puzzles (I found some great K-1 crossword puzzles at ABC ToyZone), making mermaids and reading. She is getting so good at "reading in her head." It was a much easier flight on her than Hawaii was because she is more easily entertained by herself. Mom and I watched "What Happens in Vegas." We flew all night, but for some reason I didn't sleep at all ... and I usually go to bed before 10 p.m. I'm sure I'll be tired in a couple of hours.
We were greeted right away by an Adventures by Disney representative holding a sign who loaded up our luggage and drove us to Heidelberg, which was about an hour away. We went on the Autobon where there is no speedlimit. Her speedometer was in kilometers, but I'm sure we were going well over 100 mph. My kind of driving! All of the cars, of course, are Mercedes (even the cabs), Audis and Volkswagons - I have not seen one minivan but all sorts of VW Passat wagons like John's.
When we arrived at Heidelburg, we saw a Woolworth's of all things. We checked into the Crowne Royale and Caroline and I cracked up at the size of the bed. My feet hung over the bottom. Caroline watched SpongeBob in German and could understand it because she's seen that episode so many times. We grabbed some fresh melons for breakfast and now are going to relax before Janet and mom want to go to a mall called ....the Galleria! Wonder if there's a Mall of Apache nearby.
Here's my debut video. At the suggestion of Fran Dickson, we got a Flip Video and it is so much fun! See under Day #1 Video.
